Introducing the Nyord Solu Hooded Wetsuit

Designing a true cold-water wetsuit involves balancing maximum warmth with movement, comfort, and performance. The Nyord Solu Hooded 6/5/4mm was created to deliver protection in harsh conditions while remaining responsive, flexible, and confidence-inspiring session after session. Available in both mens and womens options.
Tested Where It Matters Most
The Solu underwent development and testing in genuine cold-water environments, including Lost Shore wave pool and multiple winter sessions in exposed conditions. Every panel placement, thickness choice, and seam detail was refined to ensure performance when it matters most—keeping your core warm while protecting vital areas from wind and water ingress, without restricting paddling or movement.
Intelligent Thickness Mapping for Maximum Warmth
Rather than uniform thickness, the Solu uses strategic panel mapping:
- 6mm panels through core and upper torso for critical heat retention
- 5mm panels in chest and upper legs for overall body temperature maintenance
- 4mm panels throughout arms and legs balancing warmth with flexibility
- 3mm panels in high-mobility zones (shoulders, underarms) ensuring unrestricted movement
This construction delivers noticeable flexibility compared to traditional winter wetsuits without sacrificing warmth.
Built with Yulex Natural Rubber
The suit uses Yulex natural rubber—completely neoprene-free from responsibly managed plantations. The Yulex 2.0 formulation improves stretch, durability, and thermal performance while reducing environmental impact. Combined with recycled internal linings, this reflects Nyord's commitment to sustainable performance wetsuits.
Warmth That Lasts Longer
High-pile thermal linings run through torso and arms, trapping warmth while remaining soft and quick-drying. Waterproof stretch seam tape reinforces the lower suit, reducing water ingress. The integrated hood provides additional wind and cold protection without restriction.
The Result: A True Cold-Water Solution
The Solu delivers warmth required for cold-water surfing while maintaining modern wetsuit flexibility and performance—designed for trust, session after session.
