Tried & Tested: The New Nyord Changing Robes

Tried & Tested: The New Nyord Changing Robes

Whatever I'm doing I always make sure I have a changing robe in my boot, so I was super excited to try out new brand Nyord's robe.

I was really impressed with how cosy it felt, whilst still being lightweight and easy to pack away.

I'm always on the lookout for more eco-friendly options and Nyord have clearly given the sustainability of this product a lot of thought. Here's the low down:

Looks great

I was immediately drawn to these robes in our warehouse. There are a number of designs with cool contrast colours and lining.

Best seller have been the navy and yellow so that’s the one I took for a spin. I’d happily wear this on the beach or walking my dog in the park.

Super warm

Putting it on felt like I was being wrapped back into my soft and cosy dressing gown, just the feeling you want after a cold dip.

The outside pockets are deep and lined and kept my hands really warm.

Nyord use 100% recycled PrimaLoft lining, which is unusual to find in a changing robe.

It’s great because it’s less bulky than other synthetic linings, it’s breathable, and retains its insulating properties in wet conditions.

Weatherproof

The next thing I needed to know was how weatherproof the robe is. It doesn’t matter how warm the lining is if you’re wet through and a gale is blowing in your ears.

Luckily, it’s been pretty wet and windy recently, so this was an easy one to put to the test.

The robe kept me completely dry on a long rainy beach walk, and I was very glad of the drawstring hood and adjustable cuffs that kept the wind out.

Nyord use a plant-based breathable waterproof coating that, unlike traditional coatings, is free from PFCs and Formaldehyde. The nylon outer is also recycled.

Practical details

The roomy fit and 2-way zip meant I could get changed inside the robe. There’s an internal waterproof stash pocket for my phone. And I found the robe impressively compact when I packed it into a bag.

I loved this changing robe, Nyord’s cold water roots really show through in the detail of the design, everything about it feels comfortable, practical, and high-quality.
